Dr. Richard Solomons

Dr. Solomons was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He attended the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated in 1988. Dr. Solomons also holds an M.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware, and a B.S. degree in Animal Science. Dr. Solomons purchased Middlehope Veterinary Hospital in 1995 with a desire to practice cutting-edge veterinary medicine, surgery, and dentistry. He places an emphasis on medical excellence and gentle, loving patient care because he believes that a pet’s emotional well-being is as important as their physical well-being. Dr. Solomons is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association, New York State Veterinary Medical Society, and Hudson Valley Veterinary Association. Dr. Solomons’ special interests include orthopedic surgery, dermatology, geriatric medicine, and pharmacology. Dr. Solomons is also very passionate about education. He believes in Continuing Education for himself, as well as his team, to stay up to date on the latest medical information. He also believes in educating his clients concerning issues relating to their pets and their pets’ health. Dr. Solomons has had a menagerie of pets, including dogs, cats, horses, chickens, a peacock, two geese, a turkey, a guinea pig, a rabbit, and cows. He lives with his brilliant wife and dog Maverick. Dr. Solomons enjoys sports (specifically tennis), sailing, cooking, and reading in his free time.
